1: Identification of problems and Opportunities:
- Build a paper tower with only one sheet of 8.5 x 11 paper and 30 cm of masking tape.
- The height must be a minimum of 22' and it must stand up for one minute without falling.
2: The Design Brief:
- It must have one piece of 8.5 x 11 paper.
- It has to stand at 22' tall for one minute.
3: investigation and research:
Questions that you can ask yourself are, and what sources can you use.
- Can the paper be folded?
- Can it be folded more then once?
- What is the width of the tape?
- Can the paper be cut?
- Some sources you can use is: the teacher, the internet.
- The answers are, yes the paper can be folded, and yes it can be folded and cut more then once, and the width of the tape is 0.5'.
4: General Alternative Solutions:
5: Choosing the best solutions:
- Make sure the design you pick follows the rules in the previous steps.
- The cylinder tower has a weak base, and wouldn't be able to stand for long.
- The tower with the cone top and circular base, would be hard to tape and the weight might not be equal causing it not to stand up for very long without falling.
- The tower with a rectangular base is more stable then the other towers therefore allowing the tower to be able to stand longer and meet the requirement for the tower to be standing for one minute and being taller then 22'.
6: Fabrication :
7: Testing and evaluating:
Once the tower was made it was tested to stand at 22' for 60 seconds.
The test was successful because the tower stayed standing for 60 seconds and it was measured over to be 22'.

8: Redesigning and improving:
My original design was successful, therefore there was no changes to my design.
Improvements i can make is:
My original design was successful, therefore there was no changes to my design.
Improvements i can make is:
- Making my base stronger by making it more square and stable.
- Using a bit more tape to keep it all secure.
